 Off Campus
  • Off Campus Delivery
This provides a very flexible delivery mode that is able to be tailored to meet most people's needs. It means you can learn at any time and any place and our Internet based classroom means you have constant contact with your trainers. You may undertake a complete course or individual units.

  • How does this work?
You will be provided with a Training Plan (this lists your units in order of study and due dates), course materials for each unit (hard copy, online material or a combination) and you will be able to work through them in your own time. In addition, the following support is provided:
    • your trainer will contact you regularly by email
    • your own secure login to our online learning management system
    • contact by phone, email or fax
    • assessment of each unit upon completion
    • issue of Statement of Attainment and Certificate upon completion.

  • How is the course studied?
The courses have been developed to be studied externally, as an open learning option. This enables people currently employed to participate and for others living in non local regions it removes the cost of travel and accommodation associated with regular classroom tuition without lowering the standard of knowledge gained. You study at the time and place of your choice.

  • How do the lessons come to me?
The course materials will be provided via the mail and the Internet. The materials use easy to understand 'everyday language', comprehensive explanations, illustrations and several examples for each topic. Detailed notes for each individual unit included will become a valuable reference library. Some materials are in a paper based format while others are delivered electronically via the learning management system - or a combination of both.

  • How to successfully learn off campus?
Learning off campus can be most successful if you plan well and adopt a few basic practices:
    • adapt a self-disciplined approach to study on a regular basis
    • allocate a time in your week that is dedicated to your study (with minimal interruptions)
    • follow your Training Plan methodically and plan to meet all timelines
    • follow each Unit Checklist to ensure you have completed all required work
    • communicate regularly with your trainer - if you are not sure of anything - ask
    • respond to suggestions and feedback provided by your trainer - comments provided are not a personal criticism but guidance to achieve the competencies required
    • work extra hard on your first unit - by adopting the required procedure in this first unit, you will develop a routine for success
    • submit your work on time - or request an appropriate extension.

Remember: Like most things in life - the more you put into your learning the more you will get out of it.
